First you would make contact either by email, filling out our contact and consent form or phone call. You will provide your basic information, such as name, and a brief description of why you are seeking services. We would find out together if we are a good fit for therapy and then set up our first session together.
Whether during our initial contact, first session or thereafter, there might become a time when you have questions about me. If your questions are related to our therapeutic process then please feel free to ask them when you feel it is necessary. In order for your healing to occur, you need to feel secure with me as your therapist.
In our initial session unless otherwise stated we will meet for 60 minutes. In that time you will explain in as much detail as possible why you are here, what you would like to get out of therapy and we will both get a feel for how well we will work together. At the end of our session, we will discuss how you feel about setting up future sessions.
You can refer to our pricing page for specifics on how I charge. I do understand that everyone's situation is different so I do work on a sliding scale fee based on each unique situation. I do not take insurance but will be happy to provide the necessary documentation for you to submit your sessions to your insurance company as an out of network provider.
Needless to say, this is something that I take very seriously and I comply with all HIPAA laws on confidentiality. Our sessions will be private and only you and I will have access to our session notes.
Please be aware that by law, specifically Tariff Duty to Warn, if you are harming yourself or others, I have a duty to report. In the case that this would apply to you, we will work together to report and try to make it as comfortable as possible.
